So, somebody is heading off to further their education at some college. Attending college is a big step in a person’s life. There are so many new experiences they will have for the first time. It would be smart for them to follow some advice from an experienced university graduate.

Try to complete as much study work as you can first thing in the morning as soon as you get up. Most likely you are at your best mentally soon after you wake up in the morning. That is of course assuming you weren’t out raving the night before. Take advantage of the clear brain and see how much work you can get done in the shortest amount of time. It will make most days go a lot better.

Avoid making the mistake of scheduling classes too close together. There are going to be plenty of times when you need to get something done right before the next class that you forgot about. You want the extra time. Also, you don’t want to be rushed getting from class to class.

Make it a point to meet new friends in class on the first day. Introduce yourself to anyone sitting next to you in the room. Find out if you have something in common. You want to have someone you can bounce ideas off of for class or just to ask general questions if the need occurs.

Not all of the other students on campus will be honorable. Be sure to buy some kind of lockable box for your dorm room. You really need to have some place safe to store personal items. Otherwise, you are bound to eventually end up having something disappear. Then you will be tempted to look for somebody to blame. You’ll never really know if it was your fault or if somebody robbed you.

Get started on the right foot. Take good notes during the very first day of class. You may assume the first day to be a breeze. It wont be. Make sure you have your stuff prepared. There will probably be some things mentioned that you don’t want to forget.

You should organize specific times to get together with other classmates in some of your most difficult classes for a study group. Don’t go overkill. You don’t need a whole bunch of people. You actually only want a few. Too many more than that and your otherwise productive study group will turn into a social gathering.

Make your study area in your bedroom as comfortable and as well organized as possible. It is vitally important to be organized. When you are bugging out because you have got too much work to get done, it will be much more bearable if you’re well organized.
