Stop Violence through LMS

If food is for the body, education is for the mind. Students should be able to gain knowledge and learn the fundamentals from school for their future.

Violence has been found to contribute to the deterioration of the quality of education in America. As one of the top problems of public schools, academic activities and the core competency of the institution becomes ineffective since the environment is no longer conducive for learning. Fighting, gang activities, intimidating, thefts are the incidences that distract the learning atmosphere. Unquestionably, it is the school administrator that is the responsible party and not the attackers, parents, nor the government.

It is evident that the school administrators carry the burden of resolving the issue of violence. In as much as people would expect more from the local government, it can only do as much because of the differences in school culture, beliefs and practice. In effect, students of different schools react to different situations – each has a unique profile from the others. Hence, the Department of Education strongly believes that there is no absolute solution to the problem since it is school-specific.

The school is the mover that can resolve such violence. A universal solution is the learning management system (LSM), software for tracking, delivering and managing education and training based in the web to allow access online. There are many requirements that the LSM can meet such that of academic institutions’. Unlike in the classroom set-up, each input of the students can be given measurable merits.

When an LMS is espoused by the school, it is guaranteed that a hostile environment, that is the primary cause of learning inefficiency, is purged. Physical interaction among students, which oftentimes is the start of violent activities, is cut off putting more emphasis on online discussions instead. The students can focus more on the “meat of learning” and get used to completing tasks with a sense of independence and responsibility. In essence, an LMS can mould the character of the students through online training, rather than getting exposed to violence at school.

The quality of education in the public schools can be uplifted with the elimination of school violence. The problem of school violence can be resolved by the administrators through a learning management system, which can be made universal across America.
